Post-disaster cleanout in Montreal, professional service priced by volume.
A sewer backup in the bungalow basement, water coming down from the unit upstairs in a plex, a kitchen fire on the 3rd floor: within an hour, furniture, carpets and boxes become things that need to leave fast. We come quickly, take out what's soaked or smoke-damaged, the torn-out drywall and everything the damage ruined, and leave you an empty space, ready for drying. Every item that leaves can be photographed and listed for your insurance claim.
What we haul away during your post-disaster cleanout
- Water-soaked furniture: sofas, mattresses and box springs, dressers, bed bases heavy with water, twice their store weight, carried out without wrecking your door frames
- Carpet, underlay and floating floors pulled up after a flood or sewer backup
- Flooded basement contents: soaked boxes, storage, decorations, keepsakes we sort with you before anything leaves
- Items damaged by fire or smoke: furniture, clothing, curtains, electronics
- Drywall, insulation and materials torn out by the emergency crew or by you
- Appliances killed by the water damage (washer, dryer, basement fridge) routed to the right recycling program
- Whatever can be saved is set aside: nothing that can be cleaned or claimed leaves without your okay, you decide room by room
- Photos and a list of removed items, handed over for your insurance claim file
- Hazardous residue found in the damage (paint, solvents, propane) separated and taken to the hazardous-waste depot
How your post-disaster cleanout works
You call or text us photos, even quick ones shot in a wet basement: we confirm a volume-based price in under 2 hours and schedule fast, often same-day, because after water damage every day counts before mould sets in. On site, we take out everything you point to, set aside what can be saved, and on request we photograph and list what leaves for your insurer. We coordinate with the disaster-restoration crew or your contractor to come before or after them, whatever the job needs. At the end: an empty, swept space, a clear invoice and disposal receipts for the file.
Why bring us in for your post-disaster cleanout
After a disaster, you already have the insurer on the phone, maybe neighbours affected in the same building, and a family to relocate. Our part is the heavy, wet part, with one call. Pavel, Mickael or Justin show up in person, covered by liability insurance, with what it takes to get a waterlogged sofa out of a basement without breaking the railing. The price follows our public volume grid, confirmed before we load, even in an emergency. And we're clear about our role: drying and decontamination belong to the restoration crews. We empty fast and clean so they can get started.

When you call us for your post-disaster cleanout, it's our own team that shows up, in person. Three local partners, one standard: do the job like it's our own place.
Read our story
Ramasse Vite was founded in 2025 by three partners: Pavel, Mickael and Justin. Starting out on the South Shore, they shared the belief that junk removal could be reliable, transparent and done right. Ramasse Vite Montréal is the same crew and the same way of working, all over the island.
Our mission is simple: make junk removal and waste pickup effortless for our clients. Whether it's furniture removal, construction debris hauling, a basement or garage cleanout, or a full property clearout, we handle every project with diligence, cleanliness, punctuality, and a genuine environmental urgency. Our crew knows Montreal's realities: plexes and their outdoor staircases, back lanes, tight parking and the July 1st rush.

FAQ: post-disaster cleanout in Montreal
Do you offer cleanouts after water damage or a fire?
Yes, that's exactly our role in the disaster chain: quickly removing everything that's damaged, soaked furniture, carpets, torn-out materials, flooded basement contents, so drying and repairs can start. We often come the same day and work clean, without dragging the mess through the rest of the house.
Can you come fast? I'm worried about mould.
That's the right worry: after water damage, mould can set in within 24 to 48 hours. We reply in under 2 hours, 7 days a week, and often schedule the same day. The sooner the soaked materials and furniture are out, the faster the space dries, and the better your odds of avoiding much bigger work.
My insurer wants a list of what was thrown out. Can you help?
Yes. On request, we photograph items before loading them and hand you a list of what left, along with the invoice and disposal receipts. That's exactly the documentation insurers ask for in a claim, and it saves you digging through your memory two weeks later.
Do you do drying, dehumidifying or decontamination?
No, and we'd rather tell you straight: that's the trade of disaster-restoration companies, with their industrial dehumidifiers and treatments. Our role is the cleanout: getting everything that's lost out, fast and clean. We're glad to coordinate with the crew already on the file so we show up at the right moment.
How much does a post-disaster cleanout cost?
The price follows the space in our 10-cubic-yard truck: $185 for a single item, $365 for a quarter, $565 for a half, $865 for a full load, labour and disposal included. A flooded basement usually runs 2 to 4 truckloads, quoted as a flat package before we start. The price is confirmed before we load, even in an emergency, and it holds to the end.
Not everything is ruined. How do you decide what goes?
We don't decide, you do. We only load what you point to, and anything that can be cleaned, claimed on insurance or kept is set aside. When in doubt, we keep it: better one extra item in the garage than a keepsake gone in the truck. What's clean and still good can go to donation, with a receipt.
